Sussex metal detecting club

SMDC is based at Sompting in Sussex, with a busy group of nearly 4,000 people sharing finds and helping each other with identifications.

The club backs doing things properly: it supports recording relevant finds with the Finds Liaison Officer and the Portable Antiquities Scheme, and detecting to NCMD guidelines. They're strict about club land too — detecting on it outside an organised dig isn't tolerated.
