Brentwood & District Metal Detecting Club

One of the older clubs in Essex, Brentwood & District has been going since the 1970s. Members are men and women of all ages, and the shared aim is recovering, preserving and recording coins and artefacts from pre-Roman times right up to the present day.

The club also does a fair bit beyond the hobby itself — arranging digs on farmland to help farmers raise money for charities they choose, and running a free recovery service for people who've lost keys or jewellery, which has reunited plenty of items with their owners.
